Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) question and answer sessions

During the pandemic, parents via York Inspirational Kids support group told us that they wanted more information from services. Specifically around how services have changed as a result of COVID-19, what support is available right now and how families can access the services. These sessions are held monthly and are shared via the York Inspirational Kids parent group, and other parent groups in York.

Local Offer review

We have been working with our Parent Carer Forum to make changes to our Local Offer for SEND Website. Starting with amending and improving the Parent Carer Support Pages.

Parents told us that:

• the headings didn't make sense and that there was a lot of 'professional' names for things, so it was not easy to navigate
• in total there were 3 pages and parents felt this was too much
• they asked if it could be on one page
• they told us there was some information that was irrelevant, and some that was missing

We have made these changes, and checked back in with our families to make sure it's right.
