The government have a benefits' calculator which may be helpful to find out more about the support you can receive. In addition, Citizens Advice can help you to apply for benefits.
Unemployed aged 18 and over
You may be able to claim Universal Credit or Job Seekers Allowance.
Unemployed aged 16 or 17
Special benefit rates apply to 16- and 17-year-olds. Whether the calculator produces the correct results will depend on your circumstances.

In education or recently left
If you're under 20, it is assumed that your parents or guardians will support you whilst in school or further education. They can continue to claim child benefit and child tax credit for you.
They may be able to claim child benefit and child tax credit for up to 20 weeks after you leave.
If you are under 22 and not living with your parents or guardians you may be able to claim Universal Credit.
