Thriving and getting advice during pregnancy
Thriving and getting advice during pregnancy
There are lots of ways to get advice during pregnancy, for example:
- a baby's brain starts to develop in the womb, including their speech, language, and communication. You can read more about baby brain development. In addition, find information about planning to have a child and pregnancy
- the Unicef Baby Friendly Initiative have produced ‘Building a Happy Baby - A Guide for Parents (.pdf)’ with hints and tips from pregnancy
- parent-infant bonding and developing a secure attachment with your baby supports your baby's development. Look Say Sing Play will help you with some ideas of how to bond with your unborn baby
- during your midwife antenatal appointments, you can discuss how to support your baby’s development
- your Health Visiting Team will contact you usually after 28 weeks pregnancy. This is a good opportunity to discuss how to support your baby's development
- antenatal classes for parents are designed to help you and your baby through pregnancy, labour and birth and provide a strong foundation for secure attachment and early language development
