Tales of Acorn Wood – York Theatre Royal
Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s beloved Tales from Acorn Wood stories are brought to life on stage in an enchanting lift-the-flap experience.

Colour & Light
York BID is bringing Colour & Light back for 2026, this time on it’s biggest ever canvas. For the first time, two of York’s landmark buildings will be illuminated together, as York Castle Museum and Clifford’s Tower become a combined canvas for a fully choreographed projection show, transforming the Eye of York.

York Ice Trail
York city centre will once again get an icy makeover. York’s city centre will be transformed into An Enchanted City, where a mysterious spell has taken hold…Wander through the historic streets and discover dazzling ice sculptures inspired by magic, mystery, and the weird and wonderful.

Annie – York Theatre Royal
From the York Light Opera Company. Packed with unforgettable songs like Tomorrow, Hard Knock Life, and You’re Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile, this heartwarming tale of hope, family, and second chances is a must-see for audiences of all ages.

Your Library, Your Ideas
An opportunity for young people, aged 11 to 18, to drop-in to a workshop run by Thunk it Theatre, to discuss their experiences of library spaces, their creative interests, and the book genres and formats that appeal to them.
There’ll be free snacks and a chance to pick up a £5 Amazon voucher (while stocks last) for those who chat with us.

Jorvik Viking Festival
Get ready for the Vikings to return this February! Expect living history encampments, workshops, tours, traditional crafts, feasts, family events, evening entertainment and dramatic combat performances.

iMUSE IMPS Holiday Club Event
Step back in time with Destiny and come along to the 80s disco. Will you become the ‘running man’, learn to moonwalk or stick to the classic disco point? The green room will be open for cooling off for some stretching and chilling. Jodie will then take the floor with some groovy music making.
iMUSE, a 1 to 1 interactive multisensory and relaxation session is running alongside the holiday club. Contact IMPS if you’d like a session with Hannah.
All the IMPs holiday clubs are fully inclusive. And you don’t need any experience in music to take part.

YorKAOS Kids Art Exhibition
YorKAOS is a free public art exhibition being held at SPARK York in February 2026 during the half-term holiday. It showcases the artwork of young artists aged 5 to 11 years old, from the York area. The exhibition was started by Ada Jobling in 2024.
If you are 5 to 11 years of age and you like creating art you can join in with this years Kids Art Exhibition.
To join in create a piece of artwork and take it to one of the following Explore York Libraries: Acomb Explore, Clifton Explore, Tang Hall Explore, York Explore (city centre), Dringhouses Library and Haxby and Wigginton Library.
See your artwork showcased at SPARK from Tuesday 17 February to Saturday 21 February 2026.

Fladam Theatre present Astro Norma. An intergalactic musical adventure for the whole family.
A Hairy Business Local author Cate Greener shares her book A Hairy Business! Discover how one extraordinary Wednesday morning everyone mysteriously wakes up completely bald! There will be songs, storytelling and an activity - plus Cate will answer questions and have copies of her books available to purchase.
