If you're looking for something a little further a field North Yorkshire County Council has put together a directory of holiday clubs and activities across the county to help keep children and young people occupied through the summer break. The activities have been added by providers to North Yorkshire Connect, an online community directory containing local information, including details of support, organisations, groups and activities on offer in the county. Families Magazine is a free parenting magazine sharing information on clubs and classes, local guides and family activities in the North and East Yorkshire region. This magazine has been established for 14 years. You can pick up a free copy of the magazine locally from one of their many distribution points or read it online.

York Explore Libraries host a variety of regular, weekly events for under 5s and holiday events for all sort of age groups. There are a total of 17 libraries across York, including the mobile library. Events and activities range from summer reading challenges, weekly story times and children's reading groups, to providing a Toy Library service and more. York Museums Trust was formed on August 1 2002, as an independent charitable trust to manage the museums and gallery service. Supported by the Council, York Museums Trust is responsible for York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum and Gardens and York St Mary’s. They hold events during the holidays for families, check your local library for more information.
