Working in an Out Of School Group
Working in an Out Of School Group
If you would like to work with children aged 3 to 16 years then a career in an out of school setting could be the right choice.
There are a variety of settings in York providing care for children outside of school hours and during school holidays.
There are several reasons children attend an out of school setting, including:
- working parents
- additional activities
- recreation
- short breaks (respite)
- play with friends
the majority of out of school settings are located within schools, although there are a number of facilities based in other locations including:
- community centres
- church halls
- scout huts
- private nurseries
- pre-schools
- childminders
Settings may be run by voluntary organisations, charities, local committees or privately. If you would like to know about out of school settings in your area contact York Family Information Service.
