Overview
Kool Kids Club is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Room Leader to join our team on a permanent part-time basis.
The successful candidate will work in our busy Out of School Club, supporting the delivery of high-quality childcare in a safe and nurturing environment.
This role requires strong leadership skills, a sound understanding of playwork and early years practice, and a genuine commitment to children’s development.
As a Room Leader, you will play a key role in leading activities, supporting staff, and ensuring excellent standards of care.
Duties
Provide high-quality care and supervision for children attending the out of school club.
Lead and support safe, creative, and age-appropriate play activities.
Contribute to the planning and delivery of engaging out of school club programmes.
Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
Ensure the setting remains safe, secure, and welcoming at all times.
Meet the everyday care needs of children.
Support and guide team members in their daily duties.
Participate in training and professional development opportunities.
Requirements
Experience of working with children in a childcare or playwork setting.
A good understanding of playwork and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and show initiative.
A committed, self-motivated, and enthusiastic approach to childcare.
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s welfare.
A full and relevant Level 3 qualification in playwork, childcare, or early years is essential.

- rate of pay: £16,445 (rising to £16,900 from 1 April 2026)
- working hours: 7.15am - 9.00am and 2.45pm - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday
