We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and caring play worker who loves working with children, takes pride in their work and is eager to be part of a dedicated team. We provide breakfast, after school and holiday club care for children aged from 4 to 11 years old.
Skills required:
- a good team worker
- patient and caring
- able to get on well with children, their parents/carers
- reliable
- well organised and self-motivated
- adaptable and creative
- willing to learn new skills
You should also have:
- experience of working with children
- imagination
- good communication skills
- a sense of fun
- the ability to think on your feet to provide enjoyable experiences for children
The position is available for term time only on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for after school clubs, with the possibility of additional hours in the future. PopSoc opening times for the afterschool club are from 2.45pm to 5.30pm.
You will work alongside the other team members caring for the children, interacting with them, helping to stimulate their imaginations and providing a wide range of activities. Activities should be engaging, aid children’s development and help to create new skills and build on old ones. You should also have an understanding on how to support the children’s behaviour within the setting and have good communication skills with children, staff and parents. Full training will be given, qualifications preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Pay will vary depending on experience and qualifications. £12.25 - £13.15, pro rata.
