Overview

York Campus Nursery is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Early Years Assistant Practitioner to join our team caring for children aged 0–5 years.

This role is based within the toddler room and involves supporting the delivery of high-quality early years care and education.

York Campus Nursery welcomes children of University staff, students, and members of the public, providing a supportive and inclusive environment where children can learn, develop, and thrive.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting children’s learning, development, and wellbeing as part of a friendly and professional nursery team.

working hours: 8.00am - 6.00pm, Monday to Friday

Duties

Support the care and supervision of children aged 0–5 years within the nursery setting.
Assist with planning and delivering engaging activities that support children’s learning and development.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment.
Build positive relationships with children, parents, and staff.
Support children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies at all times.

Requirements

A minimum Level 2 qualification in childcare or early years.
Relevant experience working with children aged 0–5 years.
Ability to work sympathetically and positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Awareness and understanding of equal opportunities and inclusive practice.
Strong teamwork and communication skills.
A caring, motivated, and professional approach to working with young children.
